Got Radon?

Bucher's Radon Testing, LLC has the solution!

What is Radon?

Radon is a naturally occurring, radioactive chemical that comes out of the ground. It is invisible, with no smell or color. It is a known carcinogen and prolonged exposure may lead to lung cancer; it is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States. While you can't test your body for radon exposure, you can test your house. Thankfully, if you find you have radon in your home, it can be mitigated! The first step is testing to find the level of radon in your house, which may or may not be within an acceptable range.

How Does Testing Work?

After scheduling an appointment, I will set up the equipment at your house to test for 48 hours. I am currently using the the Airthings Corentium Pro, which is a fully certified radon detector certified by the National Radon Safety Board. The detectors will be set up in your basement per the State of Illinois' radon testing guidelines, and will look something like this:

The equipment will be set up in your basement or lowest level of your house that is suitable for occupancy. Once 48 hours is up, I will come and collect the testing equipment and send you a report on its findings via email.

About Dave

Hi, I'm Dave Bucher! I am a certified Radon Measurement Professional, licensed by the State of Illinois. You can look up the status of my license any time by clicking here.

Prior to becoming a Radon Testing Specialist, I was a professional firefighter for 27 years. For more than half of my life, I have prided myself on a career that focused on safety and building trust with the citizens of the community. I will provide that same service to you.

I have gained a vast knowledge of building construction from the time I spent in the fire service through both education and real-world experiences. You may ask, how does that pertain to radon testing? A big part of getting a valid radon test result is knowing where to place the radon testing monitor(s) within a home and how many monitors you need based on the construction of your home.

My promise to you is that I will provide great customer service and professionalism at a very competitive price.
